Backyard Spool
The Project: We live a healthy lifestyle and would love to have a pool. Ideally, we want a hot tub in the winter and a pool in the summer, but we want to keep it small. We aren’t swimming laps, but plan on floating or soaking and don’t want it to take up the entire backyard so we have space to play when we aren’t in the pool.
The Plan: A spool brings in the best of both worlds. We will build a small plunge pool that is equipped as a full in-ground spa with heat controls and an insulated cover. You can run this all winter with minimal upkeep and let it cool down for the hot days of summer.

Features
Timeless Shapes
If you build an in-ground spa, you want to keep it simple. We can make an infinite number of exotic shapes, but the more simple you keep the shape, the more timeless the space is around you.
Automatic Fill Canister
By utilizing an automatic fill canister, you never have to refill your own spa water. The system is buried parallel to the spool surface and incorporates a float system that matches the level of your spa all summer. When your water drops low, the connected water line is opened from a valve and water enters the spa. It is a mechanical system without electronics and without incurring costs to maintain a perfect water level. Because it uses your home water source, which isn’t heated, the system gets winterized before the freezing temperatures hit, so the spa can be run all winter long.
